Big Services for Little Smiles

We like to make your visit a positive experience. Let’s avoid dental anxiety with our relaxed and calming methods. We offer complete dental services for your little ones so that they get the care they need in an environment that is designed specifically for them. Safety, comfort, calm, and compassion are at the heart of the space we have created for your children.

Preventative care

You cannot go wrong with a preventative care exam for your little one. Between a professional cleaning, early detection of oral health issues, and an oral cancer screening, preventative care is the absolute best way to protect your child’s health. The easiest and best way to treat oral health issues is to prevent them from happening in the first place. We encourage you to start scheduling your child’s preventative dental exams at—or before—the age of one!

Infant and toddler dental exams

Infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged kids have different needs, and we have different expectations and protocols for them. We would never expect your two-year-old to sit in the dental chair like a seven-year-old. Instead, we have a special space dedicated to treating infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged kids. You can learn more about this on our page how to prepare your little one for their first visit!

Silver diamine fluoride

Silver diamine fluoride is an antimicrobial treatment to help stop cavity development after a cavity has formed. It kills the bacteria that break down tooth surfaces and helps reduce tooth sensitivity. This does not fix the hole in the tooth but allows us to delay treatment until a child is older and more cooperative for dental treatment.

Deep cleaning (scaling and root planning)

Outstanding oral hygiene can be difficult, especially if factors are naturally working against you. Sometimes scaling and root planing—a good, deep cleaning—is required to ensure the long-term health of your child’s teeth and gums. Dr. Sarah offers deep cleaning to get into all the nooks and crannies, and reverse gum disease.

Invisalign®

Teeth straightening is not only important for your child’s confidence, but it has profound oral and overall health impacts as well. Invisalign® can help improve your child’s bite, decrease the likelihood of decay, improve chewing and speaking ability, prevent TMJ problems, and improve a child’s airway! Ask Dr. Sarah what Invisalign® can do for your little one.

Teeth whitening

We want your child feeling confident! There are numerous reasons that your child may have discolored teeth. Dr. Sarah offers in-office whitening to make sure your child gets beautiful white teeth safely and effectively.

Sealants

Sealants are a great option for protecting the teeth from decay before it gets to the point of needing a filling. A sealant is a protective coating on your little one’s tooth that fills deep grooves where cavities tend to start.

Fillings

Cavities happen. Some kids have incredible hygiene routines and still get cavities; they’re are a part of having teeth. When cavities happen, fillings can prevent further tooth decay and infection.

Crowns

If a tooth is damaged, it needs to be protected. Sometimes you have a broken or chipped tooth that can’t be fixed with a filling alone. Crowns are a great way to strengthen and repair a weakened tooth.

Extractions

Not every tooth can be saved, and sometimes teeth need to be removed if there is an infection or if there is too much crowding to make room for adult teeth. When that’s the case, Dr. Sarah can do it right here in the office.

Root canals (baby teeth)

Even baby teeth may need root canals! Protecting and saving your child’s natural teeth should always be the first priority. Sometimes a baby tooth can’t be repaired or saved by a filling alone. A root canal is a great way to ensure your child continues to benefit from their natural tooth while preventing further decay and infection.

Same-day treatment

Sometimes things need to be treated right away, like sealants or bonding. If your child needs treatment immediately to protect the integrity of their tooth, Dr. Sarah Carpenter will ensure that they get the treatment they need right away.

Emergencies

Accidents happen all the time, especially with kids who play sports or are particularly active. If your child ends up with a knocked-out tooth, a severe toothache, or anything else that needs to be tended to right away, you can take a deep breath and know that Dr. Sarah Carpenter and her team are ready to help you and your child when you need it most.

Composite veneers

When it comes to fixing the appearance of a broken tooth, composite veneers are perfect for little ones! Composite veneers are made of composite bonding material, meaning they can be done in one visit and are more cost-effective. Composite veneers are perfect for fractured permanent front teeth!

Sedation dentistry

We offer nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, and general anesthesia sedation to make your kiddo feel more comfortable while they get the dental work they need. Dental anxiety is real, and kids can benefit greatly from these relaxation options. Fear shouldn’t be what holds your child back from a healthy smile. Ask about our sedation services!

Soft tissue laser and frenectomy

We offer up-to-date laser technology for treating soft tissue problems (tongue-ties, lip-ties, mucocele removal, canker sores, or removing excess gum tissue). Laser treatment allows for precise control during soft tissue treatment. Dr. Sarah Carpenter has years of experience diagnosing and treating these issues.
